The updated Texas Health Steps Quick Reference Guide (QRG) is now available on the Texas Health Steps web page as of November 1, 2025.
What’s Changing:
The Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) has made updates to the “Vendor Drug Program” section on the Contact Information page, including:
- The title will change to “Texas Vendor Drug Program (Fee-for-Service).”
- The call center will be renamed “Texas Pharmacy Prior Authorization Call Center,” and the website link will be replaced.
- The general vendor drug information website link will be updated, and language will be added.
- A Prescriber Outreach and Education link will be added.
- The website link for the Medical Transportation Program will be replaced.

Reminder for Providers:
Texas MCOs must provide all medically necessary, Medicaid-covered services to members enrolled in their plan. Administrative processes such as prior authorization, referrals, and claims may differ from fee-for-service Medicaid and vary by MCO. Please contact the member’s specific MCO for details.
