Medicaid and CHIP Members, please note this new information about Community First Medicaid coverage for COVID-19 and flu vaccines. While some COVID-19-related services will continue to be covered for Community First Medicaid Members through December 31, 2029, others might be covered through the Vaccines for Children program.
What This Means for You
COVID-19 and Flu Vaccines
- COVID-19 vaccines are not covered by Community First for Medicaid Members ages 3-18. COVID-19 vaccines may be administered and reimbursed at your provider’s office through the Vaccines for Children program.
- COVID-19 vaccines are covered at no cost for Community First Medicaid Members ages 19 and up at local pharmacies.
- COVID-19 Vaccines must be on the Medicaid-approved drug list and administered by licensed pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, or pharmacist interns.
- Flu vaccines are covered at no cost for Community First Medicaid Members ages 3 and up through the Medicaid pharmacy benefit at local pharmacies.
