Community-focused care accreditation seal NCQA

Community First Health Plans is excited to announce that we have earned the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Health Outcomes and Community Focused-Care Accreditations for our Medicaid and Commercial health plans. NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving health care quality.

“Cultural competency is crucial to providing high-quality healthcare,” said Dr. Vivek Garg, President and CEO of NCQA. “Organizations achieving the Health Outcomes and Community-Focused Care Accreditations are leaders in closing gaps in access to, experience with and quality of care. NCQA commends them for their dedication.”

Community First is the only community health plan in Texas to earn both accreditations, reflecting our dedication to improving health outcomes for the communities we serve.

Nationally, Community First is one of only ten Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) to receive the NCQA Health Outcomes Accreditation, which recognizes organizations that lead the market in providing accessible and culturally or linguistically appropriate care or services, understand their population’s unique health needs, and address differences in health outcomes, experience or access.

Community First is also one of only three managed care organizations in Texas to earn the NCQA Community Focused-Care Accreditation. This accreditation recognizes organizations that use standardized data collection and community-based partnerships to understand and meet their population’s non-medical or social needs.

Together, these achievements reinforce Community First’s role as a trusted, mission‑driven health plan that always works to put the needs of our Members and community first.
