How to get your At-Home COVID-19 Test for Free
In response to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases across the country, all Americans can now order 4 free at-home COVID tests through the new federal website COVIDtests.gov.
It’s a good idea to order your tests now so you have them when you need them.

Beginning January 3, 2022, Community First Medicaid and CHIP Members will be able to purchase over-the-counter (at-home) COVID-19 tests authorized by the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) at no cost. Members should get their at-home COVID-19 test kits at a Community First network pharmacy counter to ensure that the kits are processed properly and that Members have no out-of-pocket costs at the point of sale.

If you purchase an over-the-counter COVID-19 test from a pharmacy, store, or online and are charged for your test, you can request a reimbursement by contacting Community First Member Services at 210-227-2347. You will be required to submit a copy of your receipt.
COVID-19 test kits will be covered at a reimbursement rate set by HHSC, with a limit of FOUR tests per covered Member every 30 days.
