The Texas Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) survey for prescribing providers is now open. This survey is required for providers who prescribe controlled substances and helps the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) collect the data needed to meet federal reporting requirements.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires states to report on how Medicaid providers are using the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) before prescribing controlled substances. Because Texas Medicaid does not have direct access to PMP data, the survey helps HHSC gather the necessary information from prescribing providers.

Providers must complete the survey by May 30, 2025. This year’s survey covers activity during federal fiscal year 2024 (October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024).
