Texas Medicaid implemented a medical benefit for the CoCM on June 1, 2022, as directed by Senate Bill 672, 87th Legislature, Regular Session, 2021. Prior to the implementation of the benefit, HHSC conducted two trainings on CoCM services for MCOs in May of 2022.
To ensure adherence to the core principles and the specific functional requirements of the model, HHSC has developed an online training for providers of CoCM services that will be accessible via the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) website .
The Integrating Behavioral Health Services into Primary Care: Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) in Texas Medicaid computer-based training (CBT) will be available to providers of CoCM services on January 4, 2023, via the TMHP Learning Management System (LMS) website . The CBT includes six modules that may be completed by providers in any order.
